When Jesus died on the cross, His most famous final words of “It is finished!” were cried. Yet how little I actually understood exactly what He did for so very long.

For the longest time and as silly as it may sound I never realized the past-tense nature of that statement or all that it entails.

The moment that Jesus died and rose again, He immediately canceled every sin debt and removed every curse of the old law from our lives and blessed us with every blessing onto us. It is a finished and completed work that was done over two thousand years ago and there I was still having trouble even realizing that it was already paid for.

The scripture verses that list this are plentiful and numerous which makes it all the more unfathomable how long this went unnoticed in my life, but once I realized it, it was such a profound faith strengthener that studied it again today to strengthen my own faith and to share with family. And now I would like to share it with you.

Let’s take a look at Galatians 3:13-14

“Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree:
That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.”

Now the curses of the law, and the blessings are both numerous, and spelled out in Deuteronomy 28, which I encourage you to study, but suffice it to say that the curses that were removed from us when Jesus paid for us, and the blessings that he paid for us as well, are worth it, but we can not have any of them without the most precious gift He paid to give us, and that is the forgiveness of our sins!

Every day we should thank Him for the forgiveness of our sins, without which we can not have fellowship with God at all, and then let’s receive all of what He paid for, the removal of the curses and the impartment of the blessing. Remember, it is already done!
